Palihan. // Wander Wednesday

6:18 AM

"Take a photo of someone who inspires you so much that when you look at that photo, his wisom spreads contagiously into you like a disease."

Funny story, this was an impromptu event for me. Well first, because I didn't actually know that Juan Miguel Severo is coming to school. I knew about it 2 days before it happened. Second, I was planning not to go since my subjects on Wednesdays require a great deal of attention and it was "labag sa kalooban ko" to cut my classes. But when you're truly passionate for something, you find a way am I right? Unfortunately, I wasn't able to watch his whole talk about the Filipino language, spoken word poetry, and all sorts of shit (well technically, it's not shit because everything he probably talked about was meaningful) because I was too much of a "chicken" to ditch my class but the moment I entered the auditorium and heard him answering questions, my ears were delighted to hear the words that were coming out from his mouth. He talks sensibly, he's smart, he goofs around, he's not afraid to cuss despite giving a talk to a Catholic institution and yes, he's humble. I actually have the slightest crush on him. I MEAN WHO WOULDN'T?! I would gladly punch the girl who broke his heart. But then, I would also thank her because if not for her, then Juan Miguel Severo wouldn't be as successful as he is right now. If you haven't heard about "Ang Huling Tula na Isusulat Ko Para Sayo" , go on youtube, search for it then cry your eyes out.

As he was performing his piece, "Corregidor-Bataan" that's when I totally knew that I fucked up.
I should've just ditched my classes and listen to him talk about more sensible things for 2-3 hours. I should've just grabbed the oppurtunity to listen to his advices about writing and speaking. *insert 1000 crying emojis here*

On a more serious note, he literally inspired me to write more, not only in the English language but he also ignited me to write in Filipino. Which was even more beautiful than writing in a foreign language.

Honestly, this guy is a legend. And he's also talented as hell. I'm going to wreck havoc if I don't get to see him perform again.

Kudos to the AB Student Council for organizing this talk!

I'll see you on the next one.

au revoir! x A
