Hello! I haven't posted a monthly favorites post for quite a while because I can't find much inspiration. This is the longest summer I've had and instead of giving me tons of inspiration to write, all it did was suck up all the creativity I had in my brain left. So please forgive me. Although school is starting in a few weeks, I think this would be the perfect time to blog again despite the hectic schedule soon. Watch out for more blogposts in the upcoming weeks! Yay!
As I said, this is the longest summer I've been in and June was actually no different than the past months of this summer. Sad to say that for most of June, I was just stuck at home because I lacked funds to go on adventures and go out with my friends. (We all run out of money because of hanging out, you can't deny that lol) But even if most days I was just at home, I still found ways to enjoy and make the most out of this long summer hence, this monthly favorites list!
I still can't believe that I'm going to college soon. It's such a priviledge to study in one of the prestigious schools here in our country. It hasn't quite sunk into my mind yet that I'm going to my dream school and study for four years there. Yes, I'm ready to be culture-shocked on the first day but my fingers are still crossed and I'm hoping my first day wouldn't go rough as it is on my mind. Would you believe that I'm actually excited to study? I would also like to admit that my mindset for this incoming school year is VERY different from my mindset during highschool. I'm ready to change my study habits. Also, I can't wait to meet my blockmates! Hello 1CA3!
Okay, so without making the post any more longer, here's a list of my favorite things for the past month.

Book: To All The Boys I've Loved Before Series by Jenny Han
So far, this book has given me quite a number of feels. I actually love all of Jenny Han's books because I feel like I can relate to most of her novels. (If only the boys whom I fell in love with are as perfect as the boys in Jenny Han's books.) Please tell me if you've read the books, then let's create a support group for all the Kavinsky and McClaren girls out there. I recommend you do read this! Especially if you love sappy/cliche love stories. It's the only cliche story you'll love, I promise.
Food: Breakfast Brothers, Lilac Street, Marikina City
Well, I haven't actually tried out all their food yet but so far everything I ordered from this restaurant is perfection. I mean, what's better than having breakfast/brunch ANY TIME OF THE DAY? If you are craving breakfast for lunch or dinner then drive immediately to Breakfast Brothers. It's located along Lilac Street in Marikina City. Bonus: The place is well-decorated and quite beautiful.
Drink: Chocolate Cookie with Oreo Chiller from Krispy Kreme.
WARNING: Highly addictive. Consume at your own risk.
Site: rappler.com's #UnsentLetters series
Now, I haven't heard of this until it showed up on my twitter feed. Basically, you can subscribe to this series so you would receive them via email. If you're into "madrama" and "hugot" posts then this is definitely worth trying and reading. These unsent letters are written by Ms. Shakira Sison, a.k.a the only person who can make you cry because of stupid but lovely and depressing unsent letters. If you want a sample, you could visit this link to rappler. Just don't forget to pull out your tissues and earphones for the perfect senti background.

Article/News: #LoveWins !!
Basically, every article/news that has the #LoveWins tag on it and is pro-LGBT community is my favorite one. Last June 26, 2015 (please correct me if i'm wrong) the U.S Supreme Court legalized same-sex marriage all throughout the 50 states. Despite all the criticisms this ruling has received, I still can't help but feel happy for the American LGBT Community. This is one big step towards a better and non-discriminating community and I feel proud that I'm a supporter of LGBTQ+ communities all over the world. I may not be part of the said community but their happiness is also mine. If you're homophobic and you're reading this, you can leave now. #sorrynotsorry
Also, I can't wait for the day when the Philippine Government also legalizes same-sex marriage. But I doubt it will happen. Some people are really close-minded and we can't do anything about it. Lol.
Place: Splendido, Tagaytay
The thing about Tagaytay is it's a few degrees cooler than the weather in Manila. Which makes me actually want to live there forever. Splendido is a country club located at Alfonso, Cavite but technically it's still in Tagaytay. I loved staying here because it's very peaceful, unlike most country clubs, wherein people are running around and screaming and shouting and doing other noisy stuff. Splendido is an exclusive country club and maybe that's why only a few people visit this place. I feel grateful I get to visit this serene place, it's a good place to chill and unwind and not think about crappy things for awhile.
Song: Livewire by Oh Wonder
Until now, this song is still stuck in my head. I've heard it once in a vine and I can't get enough of it. Funny story: I didn't stop until I could actually find the song from the vine, I even posted the vine to twitter so my friends could shazam the song for me. Also, check out Oh Wonder! It's such an underrated band and if you're into calm indie music then you definitely should give their songs a listen.
Quote:
We love comparing, don't we? But I think we'll live our lives a little bit better if we remove that kind of mentality from ourselves. For me, there's actually nothing good about comparing. It only makes you see that another person is better than you at something but guess what? Every person in this world is good at something, and it's not necessary that each and everyone of us is good at one thing only. Go and find what you love and don't compare it to what other people love. You're free to love as many things and hobbies as you like and nobody will ever have to right to stop you from loving what you want to love and doing what you want to do. Don't ever stop loving something just because another person loves it and is better at doing it. You'll regret it.
That's the end of the list! Again, watch out for more blogposts this week. (I hope) I kinda feel the urge to write because people started reading my blog again, and I'm always thankful for those kind of people, who give their spare time just to read my blog. So if you're reading this, THANK YOU. Even if I suck at this. I promise I'll get better at it, and I'll give you even more beautiful content. You people inspire me to write. Love you loads!
I'll see you on my next blog post!
Au revoir! x A
